Welcome to "It's all Connected - with Barbara Fillip"
Dear Reader,
Welcome to a space where imagination meets inquiry, and fiction becomes a lens for exploring what matters most.
I’m Barbara Fillip, and after decades working in knowledge management while dabbling in creative writing on narrow margins of time, I’m now able to dedicate more time to fiction — no longer as an escape from the daily routine, but to explore and deepen my understanding of people, the world, everything. This newsletter is where I will write about current writing projects, the writing process as I experience it, how it all fits with what I refer to as my personal philosophy, and at times, big questions about the future.
The title — It’s all Connected — reflects what I’ve come to believe: the threads of our lives, our knowledge, our care for people and the planet are deeply intertwined. My creative writing explores this interconnectedness through stories grounded in research and inspired by lived experience. Another Substack newsletter, titled “People Care Insights” provides reflections at the intersection of aging, longevity, technology and lifelong learning which are all connected to my pro bono and consulting work.
Here you’ll find:
My series about Knowledge and Fiction, originally posted on my Fillip Consulting website.
Reflections on writing a novel set in 2065. At this time, I’ve completed a first draft but I don’t have a definitive title.
Thoughts about longevity, resilience, and future selves through the lens of fiction.
Scenes, fragments, and experiments in speculative fiction
More that can’t be defined just yet.
If you’re curious about what fiction can teach us about wisdom, aging, technology, or the choices we make today for tomorrow, you’re in the right place.
Thank you for joining me on this creative journey.
Warmly,
Barbara
